A key component of building a successful online business is to keep your costs low, which in turn, will increase your bottom line.  Common sense right. Part of keeping costs low will be for you to build your own website. If you have never done it before, it may seem like a daunting task. It really is not that difficult. I recommend if you are going to create a website, I recommend you use the tools I have listed below. A domain name, with Wordpress installed, including hosting, should cost you about $20-40 per year. This is very affordable to establish and online presence.
Web hosting is an online service that makes your website's content available on the internet.  In order to do this, you have to order a 'hosting plan'. By doing so, you are renting a small space on a physical server to store all of your website's files  and data. When creating your own website, you will need a hosting account. I have used Bluehost for about 9 years, and they are very affordable and have a strong reputation. Hosting plans start out at $3.95 per month for the first year, and they have an easy step-by-step setup process.  A nice bonus with using Bluehost is that they offer a free domain for the first year. They also have great 24/7  lifetime support, so you can feel pretty comfortable if you get stuck on something.
Domain names are an integral part of websites as they provide a very 'readable' address for people to find you online. In the most simple form it is the 'name' of the website. is the largest and most trusted domain registrar.  You can purchase a domain name for anywhere between $10 to $20 a year.  They also provide a host of other digital services, such as web hosting, email services, and website security.  I have been buying my domains at GoDaddy for over a decade. Sure there are a few other domain providers out there like, but I typically only recommend the sites that I have used.
Wordpress is a free open source software and in industry terms known as a 'content management system'. A content management system, or CMS, is used to build websites and create content to be published on the internet. With a powerful, free, CMS platform like Wordpress, you can install this software (again, for free) onto your domain name, and login to your simplied dashboard. The interface is simple to use to create web pages, content, and you can customize the design. This platform is much easier to manage your content than in years past, where web pages were built via HTML coding and it was a lot more difficult. Think of this CMS software as like driving your car. You don't know how to personally build a car from scratch, but you can certainly get in a car, start it, read your dashboard, hit the gas pedals to start driving. This is the power of Wordpress.
